Should I Include FAQs on My Itinerary Listings?
Why FAQs matter for itineraries specifically, and what to actually include
Do itinerary listings really need FAQs?
Yes — treat this as a must, not a nice-to-have.
FAQs on itinerary listings do double duty. They help your itinerary get picked up in search engine results for the kind of natural, conversational questions visitors actually type — things like "Is this itinerary suitable for kids?" or "Do I need a car for this route?" — and they reassure a visitor reading the listing that the practical questions they have are already answered, right there on the page.
What kind of questions should I actually answer?
Itinerary FAQs work best when they cover the practical questions specific to following an itinerary, rather than general destination questions. A few themes worth covering for most itinerary listings:
- Suitability — is this itinerary suitable for families, or does it require a certain level of fitness or mobility?
- Transport — can this itinerary be done on foot, or is a car needed between stops?
- Timing — is there a best time of year to follow this particular itinerary
- Budget — if you haven't already covered this via the Average Spend field, a rough sense of cost is helpful here too.
- Flexibility — can stops be swapped out or reordered if a visitor wants to adapt it?
How many should I add, and how long should the answers be?
Three or four well-chosen FAQs is plenty. Keep answers short, clear, and conversational — two to three sentences is usually enough to answer fully without overwhelming the reader.
💡 Top Tip: If you're not sure which questions to prioritise, imagine a visitor who loves the theme of your itinerary but is nervous about committing to it. What would put their mind at ease? That's usually your strongest FAQ.
